El Otro Lado
We’re excited to announce our next El Otro Lado (The Other Side), a special collaborative private dinner experience highlighting and honoring our indigenous ancestors, cultura, and community. This dinner series was born out of frustration around Cinco de Mayo as a holiday that might not always resonate with the community society says it hails from. And so, we turned frustration into inspiration and decided to celebrate the holiday on our own terms.
The theme of this El Otro Lado is pre-colonial, indigenous solidarity. A percentage of the dinner will be donated to the Southern Sierra Miwuk Nation's continued legal battle for federal recognition.
Chefs Anthony from Popoca and Jacob from My Friend Fernando will partner with us to bring our creative + culinary vision to life. Traditional salvadoran and chicano culinary worlds will collide. Join us for an intentional + intimate evening filled with a delicious 5 course meal, cocktails/mocktails, art, and community. There will be a full bar serving both alcoholic, and non-alc options throughout the evening. We will be announcing the menu within the next two weeks, so stay tuned.
Alex Sodari, a Mexican-American artist based in Oakland, CA will grace us with their beautiful artwork throughout the evening. Every guest will be getting a very special print from Alex to take home at the end of the night as well as an intentionally curated goodie bag full of poc-owned products. Trust us, you're going to want to get your hands on one of these!
If you attended El Otro Last year, you know the vibes were immaculate. And if you plan on attending this year, we can’t wait to be in community with you.
