El Otro Lado
We’re excited to announce our next El Otro Lado (The Other Side), a special collaborative private dinner experience highlighting and honoring our indigenous ancestors, cultura, and community. This dinner series was born out of frustration around Cinco de Mayo as a holiday that might not always resonate with the community society says it hails from. And so, we turned frustration into inspiration and decided to celebrate the holiday on our own terms.
The theme of this El Otro Lado is the region and beauty of Puebla. A percentage of the dinner will be donated to Sueños Sin Fronteras, a Texas based non-profit improving pregnancy, birth &postpartum outcomes for undocumented people.
Marisa’s first year of college was in ATX a long time ago, and ATX has always held a special place in her heart. When it came to planning El Otro Lado this year, she knew she wanted to dream big and take it outside of the Bay Area. She wanted to take it out of state, somewhere that felt nostalgic, special and comforting to her. And that's when she found herself daydreaming of Austin.
Some of her best memories of her recent trip to Austin were all with Joseph of Sana Sana, so when it came time to think of a Chef to partner for El Otro Lado, it was EASY. We’re incredibly proud to partner with Chef Joseph of Sana Sana Taqueria this year. We're going to bring a menu that inspires, educates and tastes incredible.
If you attended El Otro Last year, you know the vibes were *immaculate*. And if you plan on attending this year, we can’t wait to be in community with you.
What is included in your ticket?
A 4 course meal and cocktail pairing
1 x 6x6 print from Chicano artist
