El Otro Lado

This series was born out of a frustration quickly turned inspiration, and never ending quest on how best we fulfill our creativity, and intentions. When we were thinking about Cinco de Mayo, we were frustrated at the stereotypes around it, + at the sold image of the holiday that doesn’t actually resonate with the community society says it hails from.

And so, we took our creative motivation, and decided to be the ones to do something about it. What was the outcome?

Meet El Otro Lado
(The Other Side)

a private + special dinner experience highlighting, celebrating and honoring the ingredients + flavors that are found in Puebla, a city in east-central Mexico. Puebla is where the battle took place that we all (most) celebrate: The Battle of Puebla, May 5th 1862. The inspiration for the name comes from the idea that in America, we generally only hear/know/experience Cinco de Mayo + what it means to celebrate, from one lens. From one side.
